Meet the San Diego Learning Center Staff
Executive Director-Jesseca Saenz-Gonzalez is the Founder and President of the San Diego Learning Center. She has a B.A. from Eastern New Mexico University and has lived in San Diego for the past 15 years. She became interested in the field of education while working on her Master's degree in Administration. She spent 5 years working as the Center Director of a world-wide supplemental education corporation, where she served as the top Center Director nationwide and received the Center Director of the Year Award. Jesseca was also honored as the 2006 Entrepreneur of the Year by the San Diego County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. Throughout the past 8 years she has since opened 4 other locations throughout the county. Jesseca's philosophy of education is to meet students at their level, diagnose student progress, and prescribe new learning.
Director of Education- Miriam Pedrozo is a San Diego native. She attended Mission Bay High School and continued her education at San Diego State University. Miriam graduated with a double major in Liberal Studies and Spanish. Miriam has been the Director of Education at the San Diego Learning Center for the past 8 years. Miriam's genuine concern for each student's progress is evident in her daily interaction with teachers in the community, parents, and most importantly, her students.
Assistant Director of Education- Steven Rohrer attended the University of Wyoming and graduated from National University with a B.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies focusing on History and Literature. He has been teaching from the age of 15. A former CPR Instructor for the American Heart Association and Water Safety Instructor for the City of Chula Vista, Steven brings over 18 years of experience in educating children to SDLC. Equally experienced in teaching all age groups of children as well as adults, Steven specializes in test directed education, preparing students for standardized tests such as the HSPT, CASHEE, GED and SAT.
